"Inspired, as I am, by frequent travels to warm and exotic countries, ethnic art, outdoor markets, fashion and nature I combine semi-precious stones with handcrafted sterling silver, gold vermeil, lamp work and vintage beads to create body adornments that evoke nostalgia and romantic escapism. I also incorporate carefully selected found and recycled materials into my unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Like the large silk banners and wall hangings that I was known for in the 1980's, my necklaces, bracelets and earrings are distinguished by their rich colours, contrasting textures and an unpretentious sense of design. By combining handcrafted elements that my husband and I purchase on our travels to Bali, Guatemala, India, Italy, Mexico and the USA, each piece is intended to honor the origin of the separate components and to tell a story of adventure that is enhanced by the wearer."
